RESPONSIBILITIES OF A KR3TS BOARD MEMBER
As a member of the KR3TS Dance Company Board of Directors, you play a vital role in advancing our mission and ensuring the organization’s long-term success and sustainability. Board members are expected to actively contribute their leadership, expertise, resources, and professional networks to help KR3TS continue transforming lives through dance, education, mentorship, wellness, and community engagement.
BOARD MEMBERS ARE EXPECTED TO
- Serve as an ambassador for KR3TS by promoting our mission and advocating for the organization within your professional and personal networks.
- Attend and actively participate in Board meetings, committee meetings, and strategic planning sessions.
- Provide strategic leadership to support the organization’s vision, growth, and long-term sustainability.
- Help identify and secure funding opportunities, including corporate sponsorships, foundation grants, government funding, major donors, and philanthropic partnerships.
- Leverage your professional network to introduce KR3TS to potential sponsors, businesses, foundations, elected officials, community leaders, and strategic partners.
- Support fundraising initiatives by participating in campaigns, donor cultivation, sponsorship outreach, networking opportunities, and special events.
- Assist in developing partnerships that expand educational, artistic, wellness, and workforce opportunities for the communities we serve.
- Help ensure the organization’s financial health through responsible governance, fiscal oversight, and long-term planning.
- Participate in strategic planning, policy development, and organizational decision-making.
- Serve on at least one Board committee.
- Support the Executive Artistic Director and leadership team while respecting the distinction between governance and day-to-day management.
- Attend KR3TS performances, fundraising events, community programs, and special initiatives whenever possible.
- Help recruit future board members, volunteers, donors, sponsors, and community advocates.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and fiduciary responsibility.
- Stay informed about KR3TS programs, initiatives, finances, and community impact.
- Actively seek opportunities to increase KR3TS’ visibility, influence, partnerships, and sustainability.
- Make a personally meaningful annual financial contribution and actively assist in securing financial support for the organization.
